Bangladesh and Brunei on Sunday signed four bilateral instruments, including an air services agreement, to elevate the bilateral relations to a newer height, reports UNB and BSS.
The instruments were signed in presence of visiting Brunei Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Prime Minister’s Office following the official talks.
The three other bilateral instruments are: ‘MoU on the Employment and Recruitment of Bangladeshi Workers,’ ‘MoU on the Field of Cooperation in the Supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and other Petroleum Products;’ and ‘MoU on the Recognition of Certificate Issued under the Provisions of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 as amended.’
The bilateral talks between Bangladesh and Brunei Darussalam began at the Prime Minister’s Office in the afternoon.
Earlier, on his arrival on the Prime Minister’s Office premises, the Brunei Sultan was received by the Bangladesh Premier at the Tiger Gate with a flower bouquet.
Earlier on Saturday, President M Abdul Hamid urged the Brunei government to recruit more manpower from Bangladesh.
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah arrived in Dhaka on Saturday noon on a two-day state visit.
President M Abdul Hamid along with some senior ministers and high civil and military officials received the Sultan.
The Brunei Sultan has been accompanied by the royal family members, ministers of various ministries of Brunei and high-level government officials.
