Education Minister Dipu Moni on Friday said government wants to introduce debating practice in each and every educational institute in the country as debating practice makes human logical and improves language skills.
She said government want to build new generation as free-thinker, tech-friendly, scientific-minded as well as humane and creative enough to innovate new technology.
She said this to the journalists before the inauguration of Bhashabir MA Wadud Memorial National Debating Festival 2022 at the campus of Chandpur Government College.
The minister said, “Debating practice helps in extracting knowledge outside the scope of text books. It teaches people to be tolerate to others. Through debating practice, he came to know that every matter can be seen from multiple perspectives and there’re many logics besides his own ones.”
She said government wants to see the debating practice spread across the country. It should be introduced in the institutes where it’s still not exists and should be strengthen where it’s running at present.
Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka Professor Nehal Ahmed, former prominent debater and media personality Abdun Noor Tushar and Chairman of the debating festival Sabbir Azam were also present among others on the occasion.
