Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has suspended the organizing activities of its Eden College unit following recent unrest over various allegations against top leaders.
It also expelled 16 leaders of the unit for breaching party's discipline.
BCL central executive committee has taken the decision on Sunday evening, said a statement signed by BCL president Al Nahian Khan Joy and general secretary Lekhak Bhatyacharya.
The statement said untill next order is given, all organizing activities of BCL Eden College wing has been suspended. In addition, due to involvement in breaching of discipline, according to the primary evidence in hand, Eden college BCL vice-president Sonali Akter, Sushmita Baroi, Zebunnahar Shila, Kalpana Begum, Jannatul Ferdous, Aforoza Roshni, Marjana Urmi, Sanjida Parveen Chowdhury, SM Mili, Sadia Jahan Sathi, Join secretary Fatema Khanom Binti, organizing secretary Samia Akter Baishakhi and activist Rafia Neela, Noshin Shormilee, Jannatul Lima and Suchana akter have been suspended from BCL permanently.
Those who were involved in anti-disciplinary activities, will be subjected to strict action upon further investigation, said the statement.
