The reception for Bangladeshi expatriates who have been representing in the mainstream politics of the United States (US) will be held on Saturday (September 24).
‘Bangladesh Pratidin North America Edition’ and nypratidin.com are jointly organising the programme at LaGuardia Plaza Hotel in Queens, New York.
More than 27 people’s representatives in counties, city councils, and state parliament from New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Georgia, Florida, and Texas have given their consent to attend the programme.
Besides, eight more people’s representatives have welcomed the event although they can’t join it citing personal reasons.
It is mentionable, Bangladesh’s top circulated vernacular daily ‘Bangladesh Pratidin’ honoured some elected people’s representatives with the help of the United States Bangabandhu Foundation four years ago.
The programme was held at a luxurious party hall at Jackson Heights.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen was present there as the chief guest.
These 27 people’s representatives have achieved their goals and their dreams become true through their hard work, intelligence and wisdom despite various limitations. This is a big achievement for Banglalees as a rising community in the United States.
They are considered the pioneer of Bangladeshi expatriates.
To make this achievement the historical part of the country, ‘Bangladesh Pratidin North America Edition’ and nypratidin.com are arranging the reception.
Besides people’s representatives, and other Bangladeshi dignitaries, freedom fighters have also been invited to the programme.
People’s representatives will receive the honour crests from the freedom fighters.
For this reason, Bangladeshi people’s representatives in the United States have been termed “Bengal Hero in the US”.
