Two Dakhil (Equivalent to SSC) examinees died and another was injured in a collision between a motorbike and a battery-run auto van in Ghatail upazila of Tangail district early on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Nayeem Khan, 15, son of Fazlu Khan and Shakil Khan , 15, son of Abdus Sattar of Eagarkahniya village under the upazila.
Injured Rana Mia, 17 is also a Dakhil examinee.
All the victims were sitting for this year’s Dakhil exams from Mulbari Darus Sunnah Dakhil Madrash.
Sources said the accident occurred as a battery-run auto van hit the motorcycle of the examinees from the opposite direction on their way to Chhankhola Bazar, leaving them critically injured.
The injured were rushed to Ghatail Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Mymensingh and Dhaka Medical College Hospitals while Shakil and Nayeem succumbed to their wounds on the way.
Confirming the death of the examinees, Ghatail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Azharul Islam said they are investigating the accident.
