The interim government on Tuesday decided to appoint Ahsan H Mansur as the new governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB).
He will succeed Abdur Rouf Talukder, according to banking division sources.
On August 9, the governor's position became vacant when Abdur Rouf Talukder resigned citing health issues, just four days after Sheikh Hasina stepped down as prime minister and fled the country amid an uprising.
