Jewellers have inflated the price of gold by Tk1,400 to Tk1,18,355 per bhori, and the new rates would be effective from Wednesday.
The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting on Tuesday.
The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk10,147 per gram while it is Tk9,686 for 21-carat, said a press release signed by Committee Chairman Masudur Rahman.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk8,302 a gram while that of traditional gold at Tk6,864 a gram.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram while 21-carat Tk172 per gram and the price is Tk147 per gram of 18-carat silver and Tk110 for traditional silver.
