The price of good-quality gold has dropped by Tk 1,283 to Tk 1,17,176 per bhori (11.664 grams) due to a reduction in the prices of pure gold on the local market.
The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) came up with the decision at a meeting on Saturday, said a press release.
The price of 22-carat gold will now be Tk 10,046 per gram, 21-carat Tk 9,589 per gram, 18-carat Tk 8,219 per gram, and traditional gold Tk 6,795 per gram.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram, Tk172 for 21-carat silver, Tk147 for 18-carat silver, and Tk110 for traditional silver.
