Female students have outperformed males in terms of both pass rates and GPA-5 scores in HSC and equivalent exams 2024 held under 11 education boards of the country, reports Dhaka Tribune.
According to the summary of the results provided on Tuesday morning, which compiles results from all boards, this year's overall pass rate across nine general education boards as well as the madrasa and technical education boards, stands at 77.78 percent.
The pass rate for girls is 79.95 percent, while boys lag behind at 75.61 percent.
A total of 1, 45,911 candidates got GPA-5, with girls significantly ahead—80,933 girls achieved GPA-5 compared to 64,978 boys, a difference of 15,955 in favour of female students.
HSC and equivalent exams started on June 30. A number of 1,450,790 examinees appeared in the HSC and equivalent examinations this year. Of them, 10, 35,309 students have been successful.
