Jewellers have decreased the price of gold by Tk840 to Tk1,18,797 per bhori (11.664 grams) due to a reduction in the price of pure gold on the local market.
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the downward adjustment at a meeting held on Saturday.
Fresh prices would come into effect on Saturday afternoon, the association said in a press release, Daily Sun reported.
The price of 22-carat gold will now be Tk10,185 per gram, 21-carat at Tk9,722 per gram, 18-carat gold at Tk8,333 per gram, and traditional gold at Tk6,708 a gram.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram, Tk172 for 21-carat silver, Tk147 for 18-carat silver, and Tk110 for traditional silver.
