Jewellers have raised the price of gold by Tk1,750 to Tk1,15,823 per bhori (11.664 grams) due to a rise in the price of the precious metal in international markets.
The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk9,930 per gram while it is Tk9,480 for 21-carat gold, according to a press release issued by Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) on Saturday, Daily Sun reported.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk8,125 a gram, while that of traditional gold is Tk6,770 per gram. The new prices will come into effect from Sunday, it said.
Prices for silver would be: Tk180 per gram for 22-carat, Tk172 for 21-carat, Tk147 for 18-carat, and Tk110 for traditional silver.
