The price of pure gold has declined in the local market.
The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) fixed new prices of gold at a meeting on Tuesday.
Taking into consideration the overall situation, it was unanimously decided to fix the price of gold and silver in the Bangladesh market, according to a press release of BAJUS.
As per the new prices, to be effective from 20 March, the price of 22-carat per gram gold is now at Tk 9,530.
The price of 21-carat of gold has been fixed at Tk 9,100 a gram, 18-carat per gram at Tk 7,800 and the traditional one (18-carat) at Tk 6,500 each gram.
The prices of 22-carat silver, 21-carat silver, and 18-carat silver are Tk 180, Tk 172, and Tk147 per gram respectively.
The price of traditional silver is Tk110 per gram.
