Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon announced a revised class schedule for selected schools in the Dhaka metropolitan area, introducing a hybrid learning system that combines both online and offline classes.
According to the minister, online classes will be held on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Offline classes, where students attend school in person will take place on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.
The Education Minister made the announcement at the auditorium of the International Mother Language Institute in the capital on Thursday.
The minister stated., "This initiative is a pilot project set to begin next week. Its primary goal is to encourage digital education. If successful, the program may gradually be expanded nationwide."
He further explained, "The weekly schedule: students will attend school on Saturday, participate in online classes on Sunday, return to school on Monday, attend online sessions on Tuesday, go to school again on Wednesday, and have online classes on Thursday resulting in three days of online and three days of offline learning each week."
The program will initially be implemented in metropolitan and urban areas, not across the entire country, he said
The minister also noted that teachers will conduct online classes from school premises, and steps will be taken to address issues such as Wi-Fi and other technical challenges.
