Bangladesh will compete in the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan from 22 to 31 October 2026.
The head youth and development coach of Bangladesh Gerard Jones expressed his delight on social media after FIFA officially confirmed the tournament and the host nation.
The competition was approved by the FIFA Council last December as part of its commitment to developing youth football worldwide. The first edition will feature boys' teams from all FIFA Member Associations, while the 2027 tournament will be reserved for girls' teams. From 2028 onwards, separate boys' and girls' competitions will be held annually.
FIFA selected Azerbaijan as the host after assessing the country's sporting infrastructure and its ability to stage the event. The nation will also co-host the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2027, ensuring continuity in hosting major youth tournaments.
