Three members of a Bangladeshi family were fatally stabbed in a horrific attack at their home in the Aurelio district of Rome, Italy, reports Daily Sun.
The incident took place at around 9:00 pm local time on Friday at an apartment on Via Montiglio.
According to a preliminary investigation, the victims were a married couple and their minor daughter. Police said they were killed with a sharp weapon. Another family member sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Local police and forensic teams rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. As of the time of reporting, authorities had not confirmed a motive for the attack or identified any suspects.
The victims were members of the Bangladeshi community and hailed from Companiganj upazila in Noakhali, Bangladesh. Police said the family had no known criminal record and investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the killings.
Rome police described the case as highly sensitive and said investigators are examining all possible angles.
