Three members of the Detective Branch (DB) of police were injured in an attack by suspected drug peddlers during an anti-narcotics operation in Terokhada upazila of Khulna on Wednesday night, reports UNB.
The injured officers have been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Moinuddin, and constables Tabibur and Shamim.
ASI Moinuddin sustained head injuries and was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital for treatment.
According to sources, the DB team, consisting of three members, conducted the operation in Kola Bazar around 11 PM.
During the drive, the team was attacked by drug peddlers, resulting in injuries to the officers.
Officer-in-Charge of Khulna District's DB, Nurul Islam, confirmed that three individuals have been arrested in connection with the attack.
Legal action is currently underway against the accused, he added.
