The Upazila Fisheries Department in Kutubdia, Cox's Bazar, is issuing fishing licenses and permits to local fishermen. Boat owners and crew members are required to submit the necessary fees and information to obtain the licenses.
To obtain the license, both boat owners and crew members must submit their NID, along with details of the boat's dimensions, engine capacity and model number, three passport-sized photographs, and a 300-taka stamp.
The license will be valid for three years.
Upazila Marine Fisheries Officer Nazmus Sakib stated that the license must be renewed every three years. He emphasized that the license is mandatory for fishermen to operate in the sea and is more important than the boat license.
He also warned that fishing without this license would result in a fine.
It is worth noting that this license was previously issued by the Marine Fisheries Department in Chattogram. However, fishermen can now obtain it directly from the Kutubdia Upazila Fisheries Department.
