To maintain law and order, 191 platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across Dhaka and other parts of the country, reports Dhaka Tribune.
This information was provided in a message by BGB Headquarters Public Relations Officer Md Shariful Islam on Sunday morning.
Since being ousted by a student and public uprising on August 5, the Awami League has not held any public activities.
However, for Noor Hossain Day, they have called on leaders and supporters to gather at Gulistan’s Zero Point for a march at 3pm.
They announced the event on the party’s Facebook page.
In response, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has vowed to oppose the Awami League’s event.
Under the banner of the Anti-Fascist Resistance Platform, they have scheduled a gathering at Gulistan’s Zero Point at 12pm.
