Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has cancelled the license of 48 internet service provider organizations.
These ISP organizations were instructed to submit their license to BTRC within next 10 days.
The above information was revealed by an emergency notification signed by Md Nurannabi, the director of licensing wing of BTRC.
According to the notification, the ISP license of the category mentioned next to the name of 48 institutions has been canceled as submission with the approval of the appropriate authority. Any activity carried out under those licenses would be illegal and an offense punishable under the BTRC Act, 2001.
It is requested to refrain from making any type of telecommunication contract, receiving services and doing financial transactions with the institutions got ISP license under the specified category. Also, they were directed to submit ISP License to the commission within 10 days of issuance of notification (where applicable).
