Bangladesh suffered a seven-wicket loss to the West Indies in the second ODI in St. Kitts on Tuesday, handing the hosts their first ODI series win against the Tigers since 2014.
Sherfane Rutherford sealed the deal with a six off Shoriful Islam, marking a dominant series victory for the Windies.
Chasing 228, the Windies started strong, with openers Brandon King and Evin Lewis adding 109 runs for the first wicket.
Despite Lewis falling for a 46-run knock powered by four sixes, caught-and-bowled by Rishad Hossain, the hosts never lost control. King, who looked poised for a century, was dismissed by Nahid Rana for 82 off 76 balls. Keacy Carty contributed a steady 45 before Afif Hossain claimed his wicket.
Shai Hope and Rutherford guided the team home comfortably, with 79 balls to spare.
Earlier, Bangladesh's innings stumbled to 115 for 7 in just 25 overs despite opener Tanzid Tamim’s quick-fire 46 off 33 balls.
Tanzid's promising knock came to an end when he was caught at backward point off Justin Greaves, leaving the Tigers reeling at 64 for 4 after Jayden Seales' early strikes.
It was a record eighth-wicket partnership between Mahmudullah and Tanzim Hasan that gave Bangladesh some hope. The pair added 92 runs, with Mahmudullah anchoring the innings and smashing 62 off 92 balls, including two fours and four sixes.
Tanzim played his part with a career-best 45.
Bangladesh eventually managed 227 before being bowled out.
Jayden Seales was the pick of the bowlers for the Windies, finishing with figures of 4 for 22. He ripped through Bangladesh’s top order, dismissing Soumya Sarkar, Liton Kumer Das, and Mehedi early on, before returning to take the crucial wicket of Mahmudullah.
