Afghanistan got a brilliant start in their opening match of Asia Cup 2022 by securing an easy win of 8 wickets against Sri Lanka with 59 balls to spare.
Winning the toss, Afghan captain Mohammad Nabi choose fielding and they restricted Sri Lanka to 105 runs as Fazalhaq Farooki and Mohammad Nabi starred the bowling innings.
Afghan bowlers charged on the Lankan batters from the very beginning and at one stage Lankans were 49/4.
Despite some resistance from Dhanuka RajaPaksha and Chamika Karunaratne, they just crossed the 100 mark.
In reply, Afghan got a flying start with their openers as Rahnmanullah Gurbaaz scored 40 of just 18 balls, and Hazratullah Zazai remain unbeaten 37 of just 28 balls, and won the match with no trouble at all.
