Terming the ICC’s new Future Tour Programme (FTP) a great achievement for the country Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan Papon claimed that all teams in the cricketing world showed their interest to play against Bangladesh.
"Now we have the most matches in FTP. It is incredible. We are lucky. Think about the coaching staff, not just the cricketers, nobody gets time to breathe. It proved many things given the amount of game we got. ICC said or other countries, are giving importance to Bangladesh now. They do play with us,” Papon said, reports BSS.
The BCB boss said, “There are matches beyond FTP. We also have been discussing some more matches in future. There are ICC and ACC events. Unbelievable.”
Bangladesh will play a maximum of 21 matches against Ireland in the new FTP.
In the latest FTP, which will run from 2023 to 2027, Bangladesh got 34 Tests, 59 ODIs and 57 T20Is—overall 150 matches across three formats, which is the highest for any single team in this cycle.
