Manik Mia Avenue was packed with people on Monday afternoon, excited to see their favourite artists at the "Shobar Agey Bangladesh" concert.
The event stood out for its mix of solo artists and popular bands, expertly organized to celebrate Victory Day.
The concert kept the crowd energized until midnight, ending on a high note as it brought the nation together for the special occasion.
The concert offered a wide range of music, featuring songs like "Dushtu Kokil," "O Priya Tumi Kothaye," "Ei Obelay," and "Ami Akash Pathabo," catering to all music lovers, no matter the genre. The area near the National Parliament House was beautifully decorated with fireworks, drones, and festoons, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
The programme, hosted by Rafsan Sabab and Shanta Rahman, also had representation from Baul artistes such as Chisty Baul and Aleya Begum. Syed Abdul Hadi, Moushumi, Ethun Babu, Nasir Khan, Imran, Kona, Xefer and Pritom also entertained the audience as solo artistes.
BNP Joint Secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee, the convener of the concert, expressed respect for the nation's martyrs and emphasized the importance of embracing Bangladesh's rich cultural heritage. He urged the youth to move away from the influence of foreign music and reaffirmed the commitment to celebrating local traditions through the "Shobar Agey Bangladesh" concert.
Nagar Baul, Ark, Artcell, Shironamhin, Different Touch and AvoidRafa were the bands who rocked the event.
While every performance was worth commending, the night truly hit its crescendo when Nagar Baul took to stage, as the crowd erupted in a deafening roar.
The "Guru" of Bangla rock, James, was virtually illegible over 30,000 people singing "Baba", "Pagla Hawa", and "Ma"with him.
