The Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) is about to kick off, and this time, many stars are reportedly gearing up to play with bat and ball. A new addition to this year’s league could be singer Arijit Singh, who is said to be one of the major attractions.
The much-anticipated battle between Bollywood and Tollywood is set to take place in January 2025 at Kolkata's iconic Eden Gardens. The star-studded cricket competition will begin on January 31, reports Hindustan Times.
Arijit's concerts always draw large crowds, and if he plays, there's no doubt that Eden Gardens will witness even more fans. Additionally, singer Shreya Ghoshal might also be seen on the field this time.
This time, Bengal Tigers will be captained by Jisshu Sengupta, who played a major role in leading the team to victory last season. The Kolkata team is owned by Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor.
On the other hand, Bollywood stars like Sunil Shetty, Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, and Arbaaz Khan are expected to represent Mumbai in the league. Rumours are spreading that they may be present at Eden Gardens this time, though it remains uncertain whether they will be playing.
The last edition of the competition was held in March this year, where Bengal Tigers emerged as the champion, defeating Karnataka Bulldozers by 13 runs in the final match.
