Arifin Shuvoo headed to Kolkata last Friday to begin filming for the new series ‘Jazz City’, directed by Soumik Sen, a filmmaker from Kolkata.
The story of the series is based on the Bangladesh Liberation War, and Shuvoo will play the lead role.
The series will be available on the Sony LIV web platform. It has been reported that the shooting for ‘Jazz City’ has been ongoing for the past seven days.
The series ‘Jubilee’, written by director Soumik Sen, gained immense popularity in 2023. It was directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. The series featured actors Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aparshakti Khurana, and Ram Kapoor, who portrayed the story of Bollywood's origins.
This time, the series promises several surprises. For instance, Arifin Shuvoo will star alongside Sauraseni Maitra, who has already started filming. The cast also includes several actors from both Tollywood and Bollywood.
The shooting of the series will continue till February. Probably there will be no shooting of the series in Bangladesh.
The series will include songs in multiple languages, including English. While there are several composers and lyricists, the director is said to be using a female voice for the music. A jazz singer from Mumbai will provide the vocals for the series.
