People from all walks of life paid their last tributes to Ekushey Padak-winning actor and playwright Masum Aziz at central Shaheed Minar on Tuesday morning.
Sammilita Sangskritik Jote brought the body of the eminent actor to the Shaheed Minar premises where people showed love to the senior artist by placing a wreath on his coffin.
Masum Aziz worked regularly on stage, television and cinema for more than four decades. He enriched the Bangla culture with his prolific works. For this reason, people thronged the Shaheed Minar premises to pay their last tributes to this senior actor.
After placing a wreath on the coffin of Masum Aziz, Shipping Minister Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said the nation will remember Masum Aziz forever for his contribution to the culture to build a non-communal Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Awami League led by organising secretary Afzal Hossain paid homage to Masum Aziz while its cultural affairs secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil and other central leaders were present.
They said Masum Aziz’s death is an irreparable loss for the nation.
Masum Aziz breathed his last on Monday at Square Hospital in the capital due to health complications.
