Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon has said that reforms will be carried out with everyone to build a democratic state and the government will work to ensure media freedom.
He said this at a workshop organized at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital on Thursday to formulate the outline of the National Media Commission.
The minister said, “For the first time, we have been able to bring all the media together and it will have a far-reaching impact, this is a great opportunity for us. The government will play the role of a coordinator. Now we will be able to create a roadmap to reach the goal.”
At the workshop, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Chowdhury said, “No one is above mistakes. Therefore, the government's mistakes should be highlighted through responsible and constructive journalism, so that an opportunity is created to correct them.”
