World Environment Day 2026 is being observed across the country, as in other parts of the world, to raise awareness about environmental protection.
This year's theme is: "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future."
The government and various environmental and development organisations have undertaken different programmes to mark the day.
World Environment Day is the United Nations' flagship initiative for promoting awareness and action for environmental protection.
Over the years, it has grown into one of the largest global platforms for public outreach, observed by millions of people in more than 100 countries.
