Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the residence of seven-year-old Ramisa, who was raped and murdered in the capital's Pallabi, and expressed condolences to the family.
During his visit, he took responsibility for the future of Ramisa's elder sister.
He reached the house in Mirpur-11 in the capital around 10 pm on Thursday. Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman, State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque and many others were present at the time.
The Prime Minister's additional press secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon shared details of the Prime Minister's meeting and said, "The Prime Minister handed over financial assistance to Ramisa's father."
The Prime Minister has taken responsibility for the education and future of Ramisa's elder sister Raisa Akter, his press wing said.
Last Tuesday morning, police recovered Ramisa's headless body from under the bed of a flat in Pallabi, Mirpur, and later the severed head from the bathroom. A murder case was filed at Pallabi Police Station in this incident.
The police first arrested Swapna Akter, the wife of the main accused Sohel Rana. Later, the main accused Sohel Rana was arrested.
After his arrest, the murderer Sohel Rana confessed to the rape and murder of the child Ramisa in court.
