Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has visited the family of Ramisa Akter, a victim of the brutal murder in the capital's Pallabi.
The Prime Minister went to meet the bereaved family of Ramisa Akter in the Pallabi area of Dhaka after a cabinet meeting on Thursday night.
Earlier on Thursday, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said that exemplary punishment will be ensured in this incident as soon as possible.
Ramisa, a second-grade student, was allegedly brutally murdered by a tenant of a neighboring flat in Pallabi last Tuesday.
Police said that after Ramisa left her house in the morning, suspect Sohel Rana called her to his room. He then killed her.
Later, Ramisa's headless body was recovered from under the bed and her severed head was recovered from a bucket kept in the bathroom.
Police said that while locals detained the accused's wife Swapna Akter, Sohel Rana escaped by cutting the window grill. He was later arrested from Fatulla area of Narayanganj on Tuesday evening.
