Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said that the police will investigate the murder of second-grade student Ramisa in the capital's Pallabi and submit a chargesheet as soon as possible.
The Home Minister said this at a press conference on Ramisa and recent issues at the Home Ministry meeting room at the Secretariat on Thursday.
The Home Minister said that the rest of the trial is the responsibility of the law department. We hope that exemplary punishment will be ensured as soon as possible.
The Home Minister said that we are arresting many professional criminals who have been roaming around in the eyes of the law for a long time.
Noting that the criminals in various discussed cases have been arrested, the Home Minister said that we have been able to arrest many professional criminals.
The Home Minister said, “The accused in the Ramisa murder case was arrested within 24 hours. The highest orders have been given to those concerned to bring the accused to justice with a chargesheet soon.”
He also said that the court will confirm the punishment.
He said, “The government has taken the initiative to ensure speedy trial by preparing a list of all the recent murders, including the murders of Ramisa, Asia, and Tonu, the rape of a young woman in Bogra, and the five murders in Gazipur.”
He also said, “The police are trying their best to improve the law and order situation in the country. Along with this, reforms will also be made in the police force.”
Stating that the government has not got much time, he said that the government is working seriously, for this some time must be given.
In response to a question about the ongoing situation in West Bengal on the citizenship issue, the Home Minister said that it is an internal matter of India. However, the BGB is on alert to prevent illegal infiltration at the border.
In response to journalists' questions about the provocative statements made by fugitive Awami League leaders on social media and the return of the former prime minister to the country, he said, "We want Sheikh Hasina to return legally."
