Several parts of the country may experience thunderstorms accompanied by hail from Thursday, March 20, according to a forecast issued by the Meteorological Office on Wednesday.
Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman stated that a low-pressure extension has spread to West Bengal and surrounding areas, while the seasonal low-pressure system remains over the South Bay of Bengal.
The forecast for Wednesday night through Thursday morning indicates mostly dry weather across the country with some partly cloudy skies. Day and night temperatures are expected to remain stable.
Between Thursday morning and Friday morning, isolated thunderstorms, rain, or lightning may occur in parts of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Scattered hailstorms are also possible. In other areas, the weather is likely to remain dry with some cloud cover. Daytime temperatures should stay steady, while nighttime temperatures may see a slight increase.
Between Friday morning and Saturday morning, similar weather conditions are expected across Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Scattered hail may continue in some locations. Daytime temperatures could drop by one to two degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain unchanged.
Towards the end of the extended five-day period, temperatures are likely to rise gradually.
