Israeli airstrikes have killed over 400 Palestinians, including women and children, in a renewed assault on Gaza. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the attacks, expressing outrage as international criticism grows.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the bombardment is "only the beginning," warning that future ceasefire negotiations will take place "under fire." Meanwhile, Palestinians in Gaza are once again fleeing their homes as Israel issues new forced displacement orders.
Gaza’s Health Ministry reported at least 48,577 confirmed Palestinian deaths, with Gaza’s Government Media Office revising the toll to over 61,700, including those presumed dead under the rubble. Israel’s war on Gaza has also left 112,041 wounded. The attacks come after Hamas signaled a willingness to engage in talks to halt hostilities and lift Israel’s 17-day blockade.
The United Nations accused Israel of blocking life-saving medical supplies, including ventilators and incubators, at the border. A UN assessment found no hospitals in Gaza are fully operational, with 13 hospitals and four field hospitals out of service.
Israeli raids have intensified in Khan Younis and Rafah, killing at least 10 people, including a mother and child. As heavy drone activity signals further strikes, families seek refuge in makeshift shelters and collapsing buildings, heightening risks for the already displaced.
Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi rebels launched their fourth attack against US warships in 72 hours, targeting the USS Harry Truman carrier group with missiles and drones. In response, the US military continued strikes on Yemen, hitting sites in Saada and Hodeidah. The Houthis warned that their attacks on Israel would escalate until the war on Gaza ends.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez condemned Israel’s latest assault, calling it "atrocious" and "unacceptable." The US, however, reaffirmed its military actions in Yemen, describing them as operations against "Iran-backed Houthi terrorists."
With no sign of de-escalation, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen as Israeli forces intensify their military operations.
