The interim government has recommended the withdrawal of a total of 6,202 politically motivated cases.
In this regard, the central committee formed by the Home Ministry has made this recommendation after examining 6,295 cases presented by the field-level committee.
The Home Ministry shared this information in a press release on Sunday.
It said that the central committee held eight meetings under the chairmanship of the Law Advisor to consider the proposals of the field-level committee. A proposal to withdraw a total of 6,295 cases was presented to the central committee in the meeting.
The ministry said that in order to withdraw the cases filed against the leaders and activists of various political parties for political harassment during the 16 years of the last government, the Home Ministry formed a central committee with the Law Advisor as the chairman and formed a field-level committee with the district magistrates as the chairman.
After the field-level committee scrutinized and selected the matter, the proposals to withdraw the cases of district magistrates and the solicitor's office of the Law and Justice Department were sent to the central committee for consideration.
The ministry has stated that this program will continue to protect innocent individuals and political activists from harassment.
