BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed visible initiatives must be taken for holding elections by December as if its delayed, conspiracies will increase.
He said this at a discussion meeting at the National Press Club on Sunday.
Salahuddin Ahmed said, “I demand that what the government will do regarding the electionsmust be made visible to the people. The longer the election process is, the more the ongoing problems will increase.”
He said, “An election is necessary to end the unrest in the nation. As time goes by, cunning tactics are being observed to obstruct the path of transition to democracy. Fascism must be confronted not only with the police, but also with politics. Only then can fascism be uprooted from its roots. At this time, Salahuddin Ahmed called on the interim government to bring the rise in commodity prices under control.”
