BNP Chairperson's advisor and former opposition chief whip Zainal Abedin Faruque has commented that BNP will not allow local government elections before the national elections.
He said that the government must announce the roadmap for the national elections by making minimum reforms. The government elected after the national elections will make the necessary reforms.
He said this while addressing the public meeting organized by the district BNP at the Nilphamari Central Shahid Minar premises on Tuesday afternoon as the chief guest.
BNP's Rangpur Divisional co-organizing secretary professor Aminul Islam spoke as a special guest at the meeting chaired by District BNP president A. K. M Alamgir Sarkar.
Former opposition party Chief Whip Zainal Abedin said, “Dr. Muhammad Yunus is the country's chief advisor today and where is Sheikh Hasina now. She’s in Hindustan.”
The district BNP organized this public meeting as part of its central program with various demands including keeping the price hike of daily commodities at a tolerable level, improving the law and order situation, announcing a quick electoral road map and exposing the various conspiracies of fallen fascism.
Zainal Abedin Faruque said, “We don't want to see votes of daytime held at night. We don't want votes of dead people anymore. We don't want a Aynaghor anymore.”
He further said, "We have not been defeated in the fight taught by Begum Khaleda Zia in the past 16 years. We have been defeated by Benazir of the police, we have been defeated by Hasina's bureaucrats."
