To ensure law and order, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have intensified its operational efforts, including setting up additional patrols and checkposts across the nation. A total of 218 patrol teams have been deployed, with 69 in Dhaka and 149 in other areas. RAB has also ramped up its intelligence surveillance through undercover operations.
Lieutenant Colonel Ashikur Rahman, Director of RAB's Legal and Media Wing, gave this information on Tuesday.
Ashikur Rahman said that RAB's operational activities including setting up robust patrols and check posts across the country have been strengthened to create instability and arrest planners, thieves, kidnappers, robbers and terrorists with illegal weapons in different parts of the country.
He said that in addition to the anti-terrorist and anti-drug operations, RAB's vigorous activities continue to build a peaceful environment for the general public by arresting criminals involved in murder, extortion, theft, robbery, kidnapping.
Highlighting the recent times, Ashikur Rahman said that in different places across the country, some miscreants and self-interested groups are trying to create panic in the public by deteriorating the law and order situation in the country through attacks and sabotage. In different places of the country, they are carrying out brutal attacks and attacks on the common people, including theft, robbery, robbery, murder, extortion.
“In continuation of this, from the night of February 24, the operational activities of RAB Forces have been increased across the country to prevent any kind of sabotage and violence, including maintaining the law and order situation.”
“As part of this, 218 patrol teams have been deployed across the country in coordination with other law enforcement agencies and various activities including RAB's intelligence surveillance in plain clothes have been increased,” he added.
In addition, RAB's Cyber Monitoring Team has continued round-the-clock surveillance online to prevent the spread of any kind of rumors/false information in the virtual world. RAB has also requested the public to inform RAB if any kind of chaos occurs.
