Notifying that the interim government is working to ensure justice for Pilkhana massacre, chief adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus said: “Bangladesh as a state is committed to ensuring justice for this brutality.”
He made this statement in a message released on Tuesday on the occasion of ‘National Martyred Army Day’.
Mentioning that the day is observed for the first time in memoir of Pilkhana Tragedy, the chief adviser said: “The families of the martyrs have been waiting for justice for their loved ones. After the brutal killings of our brave army officers at Pilkhana, the nation has been kept in the dark for too long.”
He emphasized that the government is working diligently to ensure justice for the Pilkhana massacre.
“With empathy, I remain hopeful that the country and its people will continue to stand with the families of the martyrs and all those who have been oppressed,” he added.
The statement read: “On this day, I remember with deep sorrow and extend my heartfelt tribute to the nation’s martyrs, the army officers who gave their lives. I pray for the peace of their souls and offer my sincere condolences to their grieving families.”
Dr Yunus added: “From now on, this day will serve as a constant reminder of the untimely and brutal deaths of a group of courageous individuals who sacrificed their lives for the country.”
“As a nation, we must resolve to walk the right path in remembrance of their sacrifices. No more lives should be lost to misrule, conspiracy, and arrogance. People should be able to reach their rightful place with dignity, based on their abilities and talents,” he continued.
