According to the final accounts for the fiscal year 2023-24, the per capita income of the country has decreased by 46 dollars, as reported by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
The report states that Bangladesh's per capita income has now decreased to 2,738 US dollars, a drop of 46 dollars from the provisional estimate.
The per capita income has also decreased in terms of the local currency, as the initial estimate was 306,144 Bangladeshi Taka.
According to BBS, the average per capita income of the country's people has decreased over the last three years. However, in the 2021-22 fiscal year, the per capita income was 2,793 dollars, which was the highest ever.
