Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has said that his party’s leaders and activists are not involved with occupying, extortion and litigation business in the country.
“We have been patient even after enduring torture and oppression for the past 17 years. We love the country and its people. Nowhere in the country did our activists rush to occupy sand lands, water bodies, bazaars, stands, and footpaths. Our activists are not engaged in extortion and litigation trading. Because they know these are haram (forbidden by God). Any Jamaat activist cannot be involved in these misdeeds. If anyone got involved mistakenly, you must avoid this to show respect to the martyrs.”
Shafiqur Rahman came up with the observation while speaking at an activist’s council at Balu Math in Sunamganj town on Saturday afternoon.
Sunamganj district Jamaat arranged the council.
“We don’t want mutual biting about the past. However, those who killed people and were involved with enforced disappearances; must have to face music. This is not to take revenge, it will be done to free the society from stigma,” he opined.
Sunamganj district Jamaat Ameer Maulana Tofael Ahmad Khan presided over the council.
