Information commissioner Masuda Bhatti was removed from her post after allegations of serious misconduct were proven.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a notification in this regard on Monday.
It said that the allegations of serious misconduct against information commissioner of Bangladesh Masuda Bhatti has been proven of serious misconduct before the Supreme Judicial Council. Accordingly, the President removed Masuda Bhatti from her post on January 16 in accordance with the provisions of Article 16(6) of the Constitution as well as Section 16(1) of the Right to Information Act, 2009.
In August 2023, during the Awami League government, the then government issued a notification appointing Masuda Bhatti as Information Commissioner.
