The High Court (HC) on Tuesday acquitted former state minister for home Lutfozzaman Babar, who was sentenced to a life term, in a case filed over the sensational 10-truck arms haul in Chattogram.
The bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Nasrin Akter passed the order.
Deputy Attorney General Sultana Akter Rubi and Assistant Attorney General Md Asif Imran Jisan represented the state, while senior lawyers SM Shahjahan and Shisir Monir represented the accused.
Earlier on December 18 last year, the High Court acquitted Lutfozzaman Babar and five others, who were sentenced to death by the trial court, in another case filed over a 10-truck arms haul.
The HC bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Nasrin Akter delivered the verdict.
