The responsibility (current responsibility) of the head of the Special Branch (SB) of Bangladesh Police has been assigned to deputy inspector general of Police (DIG) Md. Golam Rasul.
Golam Rasul has also been working in the Special Branch.
The appointment was made in a notification signed by deputy secretary of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs Md. Mahabur Rahman Sheikh on Monday, as per the order of the President.
Earlier, DIG Golam Rasul of Dhaka Police Staff College was posted to SB in a notification on December 18. In the same notification, the then head of SB, Additional IGP Khandker Rafiqul Islam, was posted to the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU).
