The Election Commission (EC) published the 2025 draft of updated voter list today (Jan 2), revealing a 1.5% increase in the total number of voters compared to the previous year.
The draft list records 12,36,83,512 voters, up from 12,18,50,160 in 2024—an increase of 18,33,352 voters.
Election Commissioner Brigadier General (retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah announced the numbers at a press briefing at the Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon.
After resolving claims and objections, the Election Commission will release the final voter list on March 2.
Additionally, the new commission, led by AMM Nasir Uddin, decided to carry out door-to-door registration to include excluded and eligible voters.
