The Bangladesh Oil, Gas, and Mineral Resources Corporation (Petrobangla) has announced a temporary reduction in gas supply and low pressure across the country due to scheduled maintenance. The supply of RLNG from the LNG FSRU operated by Accelerate Energy at Maheshkhali will be suspended for 72 hours, from 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, to 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
During this period, another FSRU, MLNG, will continue to supply approximately 570-580 million cubic feet of gas per day. However, this will lead to a reduction of 150-180 million cubic feet per day to the power sector, and other sectors will experience a decrease of 50-70 million cubic feet per day. As a result, some areas may face low gas pressure.
Petrobangla has expressed regret for any inconvenience this temporary disruption may cause and appreciates the public’s understanding.
