The finance adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed said the poor people will get relief from the burden of Tax in the next fiscal year budget.
He made the statement while addressing journalists at the Bangladesh Secretariat in the capital on Thursday.
The adviser said: “The budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26 will provide protection to poor people from tax burden.”
He added that the businessmen always search for loopholes for tax exemption. They are not willing to pay four crore taka tax, after gaining 50 crore taka in business.
Dr Salehuddin said: “Beximco group got the money on humanitarian consideration; otherwise it wouldn’t have been able to pay the workers.”
“Whoever is involved in the theft must be punished,” he said, adding that the workers cannot be made to suffer.
