Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim, Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer of Islami Andolon Bangladesh, stated, "India is conspiring to impose war on the people of Bangladesh. The British and Pakistanis failed to survive through conspiracy. India will not succeed in its conspiracies either. India's stance on Bangladesh is against the international law."
He said, “The people of Bangladesh did not fear the British. They did not even fear the tanks of West Pakistan. So there is no question of the people of Bangladesh being afraid of India.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at the Garment Workers Conference 2024, held at the National Press Club auditorium on Thursday morning.
Mufti Faizul Karim said, "Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in India has been attacked. The flag of Bangladesh has been disrespected. Why were our diplomats attacked? Does India want to pick a quarrel with Bangladesh and wage war? If India really wants to wage war, then what kind of friends are they? Mamata Banerjee's statement proved India’s true nature as a friend."
Speaking about the workers, he said, "Workers are being forced to protest in order to receive fair wages for their labor. Garment workers play a significant role when it comes to earning foreign currency. The garment sector is maintaining the balance of the country’s economy."
He added, "There are ongoing domestic and foreign conspiracies to destroy the garment sector. A certain group of dishonest people are staging various movements to cripple the country's economy."
Muhammad Harun-ur-Rashid, president of the Garment Workers Movement Bangladesh, was the main organizer of the event.
