The High Court has issued a ruling asking why the preliminary examination of the 46th BCS should not be canceled following allegations of question leaks. Additionally, in an interim order, the court directed the CID to investigate the matter and submit a report within 60 days.
The order was issued on Monday by the High Court bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury. Advocate Shah Navila Kashfi represented the petitioners in the hearing.
On October 23, Advocate Shah Navila Kashfi filed the writ on behalf of 24 candidates who participated in the 46th BCS preliminary examination, seeking its cancellation. The writ named the Cabinet Secretary, the Chairman of the PSC, the Secretaries of Public Administration, Law, and Home Affairs, and others as respondents.
Earlier, on September 26, a legal notice was sent demanding the cancellation of the preliminary examination, which had been held in April, citing allegations of question leaks and irregularities. Advocate Shah Navila Kashfi sent the notice on behalf of the 24 students.
The notice was sent to 14 officials, including the Cabinet Secretary, the PSC Chairman, and the Secretaries of Public Administration, Law, and Home Affairs. It demanded the cancellation of the 46th BCS preliminary examination within 15 days of receipt.
The preliminary examination result was announced on May 9, with a total of 10,638 candidates passing.
