Dr. Sayedur Rahman, the special assistant to the Chief Advisor, who has the executive responsibility of the Ministry of Health, said that unique ID cards will be provided to those injured in the July-August uprising.
“Once it is made, all the benefits will be guaranteed. In terms of treatment, you will get free treatment from all government institutions throughout your life. The government will pay the full or partial cost of private hospitals with which the government has an agreement,” he said to the injured-victims of July-August uprising.
Dr. Sayedur Rahman said this after the meeting of 6 advisers and the students and people injured in the July-August uprising ended in the conference room of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at the Secretariat on Thursday evening.
Dr. Sayedur Rahman said that these processes will be completed by December and written outline will be given within the next five days. They will be implemented as per the timeline outlined.
He also said that all personal expenses incurred so far will be refunded if proper information is provided. They and their families will be supported by providing appropriate training to the blind with educational qualifications and abilities. Those suffering from paralysis will be treated as much as possible.
He said, “The support center will be there after November 17. All kinds of solutions will be tried from there. All government hospitals will have dedicated beds to treat the injured. All the hospitals in Dhaka will be brought under one network. All processes will be completed by December. Negligence in this regard will not be tolerated in any way. If necessary, advanced treatment will be provided abroad.”
Earlier in the meeting Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum, Social Welfare Adviser Sharmin S Murshid, Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter, Adviser Mahfuz Alam, Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Nahid Islam, Youth and Sports and Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan were present
In addition, Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the student movement, Sarjis Alam, general secretary of July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, twin brother of martyr Mugdho and chief executive of July Shaheed Smriti Foundation Mir Mahbubur Rahman, took part in the meeting.
