Religious Affairs Adviser to the interim government AFM Khalid Hossain said that the interim government would step down after ensuring a fair and acceptable election. The government’s role is to hand over power to whoever wins through the election process.
He made these remarks as the chief guest on the second day of a three-day religious sermon (waz mahfil) held at the Shiromoni Hafizia Madrasa in Khulna on Saturday, November 9.
He urged the public to stay vigilant. According to him, it is difficult to predict what kind of situation may arise in the country if the government fails.
The advisor emphasized the importance of understanding and implementing the teachings of the Holy Quran in daily life, noting that adherence to Allah's guidance could transform the country's social system.
The main speaker at the event was Maulana Tarek Monowar. Special guests included former Member of Parliament and Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Mia Golam Parwar, President of Hifazul Quran Foundation Maulana Qari Abdul Haq, and Assistant Professor of Khulna's Darul Quran Siddiqia Madrasa Maulana Moniruzzaman.
